AT PATRIOTS POINT, SC 
Visited and toured as part of our trip with P 459
to the USS YORKTOWN ( CV- 10) in 3/2005.
The USS CLAMAGORE -( SS-343) A Balao class diesel submarine constructed near the end of World War II. Commissioned on June 28th 1945 she arrived too late to enter the war but was operated as a frontline submarine from 1945 until the late 60's when nuclear powered submarines were being launched in enough numbers to replace the aging diesel boats. Decommissioned in 1975 she is now moored at Patriot's Point Naval Museum in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
